Search

The Advanced Search (as oppsed to the Quick Search in the page header) lets you search within the data of selected resources in a more targeted way. Because multiple sub-queries can be combined, very efficient — and, if needed, complex — searches can be constructed.

Each sub-query refers to a specific resource, which is selected using the first dropdown of that query. Each query can be marked as "required", "optional", or "excluded". This lets you build simple logical expressions from the individual queries.

Results are generally locations that the target resources hold matching contents for. When combining several "required" sub-queries, ensure they can be sensibly combined and are not targeting resources from different texts.

Resource types and their search features

Each resource type provides a different search form adapted to the structure of its data. The search form for a query therefore changes with the chosen target resource. In the visual blocks of the sub-queries you’ll find a dedicated help button that shows information about the search features of the corresponding resource type.

Settings

Respect diacritics

If this option is enabled, entered or missing (!) diacritics are considered in the search, and only content with the same use of diacritics will be found.

Citation range

If all selected resources are associated with the same structural level of the same text, you can restrict the range of locations to be searched here.
